Let’s Turn the Wurkkos TS26S ON!
If all you want is plain old flashlight… click the side-switch!! On and off, simple right?
While that might be good enough for grandma/grandpa as they illuminate their way to the bathroom at 3 am, I suspect YOU, might want a bit more!
Step Mode (default)
So once it’s on, do the “holding press” thing, and the TS26S will step through low, medium, and high.
Want Eco mode? (a nice low 3 lumens) Then turn it off – press and hold. Presto!
Want Turbo? Then do the “double-click”…. from either on or off.
Looking for the emergency modes? That will be a triple-click! Strobe comes first. Triple-click a SECOND time, and SOS will kick into gear. A THIRD triple-click, will activate BEACON. A single-click from ANY of those modes will return it to the last regular mode it was on.
Ramping
Ramping provides a smooth increase and decrease of output levels. It’s a way of getting a more customized output.
To enter the mode, click 4 times while it’s on. A brief flash will indicate the change. A holding press will raise and lower the output.
The emergency modes are still available while ramping, by clicking the number of times previously described in “step” mode.
Lock It!
Lock-out your Wurkkos TS26S to prevent “surprise” activations!
Click 4 times while the light is OFF. You’ll know it’s locked when further clicks only produce a brief flash.
Another 4 clicks in a row will UN-lock it.
Charge the Battery
Connect the USB charging cable to the port on the opposite side of the switch. The indicator will be RED until charging is complete.
Battery Voltage Indicator
Each time you turn the light on, the switch indicator will light up for 5 seconds.
- When it’s GREEN, the battery is between 75 & 100%.
- Flashing GREEN – 50-75%
- Red – 25-50%
- Flashing RED – almost dead!
Cutting Through the Darkness
In General Terms
I like this Wurkkos TS26S! It’s a great flashlight.
The Nichia LED’s product a very nice uniform beam.
High mode isn’t as “high” as it is on some lights, but turbo makes up for it. Also note; turbo does an automatic stepdown after about 2 minutes, where it ends up close to “high” and stays there for an extended time. At the 2 minute turbo mark, the body is also very warm to hot! (to be expected)
I especially like the ramping option. It can come in handy when you want an output somewhere between the default increments.
As far as mid-size flashlights go, I think you’ll be happy with a Wurkkos TS26S.
