I haven’t owned a new Jetbeam flashlight is quite some time. Having said that, I’m quite enjoying the Jetbeam E26 Kunai, which, at this writing is their latest release.

Jetbeam E26 Operation
The E26 has two power switches. One is the centerpiece of the “mode” selector. The other is the tactical tail-switch.
The Mode Selector (and main switch)
From left to right, your choices on the selector dial are;
- Lockout mode
- Standard (white) LED
- UV light
- Green laser
Turn the selector dial to the type of output you desire, then press the center switch. Or…press the switch FIRST, then change the dial position.
Basic Light
For basic “one button” operation you can use either switch.
Pressing the center switch will turn the light on and off. Once on, a holding press will cycle from low to turbo, and back again. Mode memory will ensure it always comes back on at the last mode used.
The tail-switch is for tactical/constant (turbo) use only. You can either press (and hold it) lightly for tactical operation, or perform a full (clicking) press for constant turbo operation.
Strobe
On demand strobe is achieved by a “double” holding-press of the tail switch. Once it’s on, you can keep it activated by firmly clicking the switch. Click again to shut it off.
Lockout
Select the far-left position on the wheel, and the E26 will be “locked”. Neither switch will activate the light when selected.
UV (ultraviolet)/Laser Beam
The third and 4th wheel position are reserved for these two specialty outputs. Both useful in their own special kind of way!

Tactical tail-switch
There’s a tiny ‘battery power indicator’ to the right of the USB port. Each time you click the power switch it lights up for 3 seconds. If it’s green, the voltage is between 30 and 100%. Less than 30% it’ll be orange…and you’ll red if the charge is really low.
During the charging phase the indicator “flashes” red. It’s constant “green” when charged.

Lots of Things to Like About the Jetbeam E26
So, I know we’ve seen a similar design on other lights before. The Olight Arkfeld comes to mind.
Regardless, the Jetbeam E26 makes good use of the similar design, and has some nice features as well.
If you like tactical lights – then you’ll like how the E26 utilizes it. The ONLY possible issue night be…that it can’t tail-stand 🙁
It’s a very easy light to operate, and if you’re not a fan of multiple “double-clicks” and holding-presses, you’ll probably appreciate it even more.
UV light isn’t something you’ll use a great deal….unless you’re part of a forensics team! You might appreciate it though if you travel often and stay in a lot of hotels. Always nice to know if the room they put you in is clean!
The laser beam is another “convenience” if you ever need one in an emergency! Oh, and speaking if emergencies;
Strike bezel beads
Check out the photo, which might look a little strange.
On either side of the “head” are two sets of zirconia ceramic beads (one set is circled). As a strike bezel, the head can be used to break glass, or maybe even put a dent in other solid objects.
