Tactical Operation
Similar to the humble beginnings of LED flashlight technology, the Wuben L3 only has ONE switch with which to perform all its functions.
The tail switch works in two ways.
A “soft” (tactical) press and release, will produce momentary light. It works on the basics of “mode memory”, so whatever mode it was on previously, is what you’ll see.
A FULL click of the button will get you constant light. Again, “MM” will determine how bright that will be.
Once it’s ON, single clicks will change the modes.
The mode sequence goes from low to high, then in reverse if you keep clicking.
Strobe; Click twice. SOS; Three clicks.
Time to Charge
When it’s time to charge the battery, twist the “grooved” ring to the right, and pull upward. This will reveal the USB port.
The charging port is designed well and the twisting ring keeps it sealed from moisture when nor in use.
Once the cable is connected, the indicator right will illuminate in red. When it turns BLUE, you’ll know it’s charged.
Beam Me Up!
The Simplicity of the Wuben L3
It’s been confirmed. The Wuben L3 is all about simplicity.
If you appreciate a flashlight with high output, the L3 delivers. If you appreciate an LED flashlight that’s no more complicated than a toaster oven…then the L3 delivers!
The Good and Bad of the Wuben L3
The L3 reminds me of some of the flashlights we saw when the technology was young.
This is mainly due to its overall size and design. As I eluded to in the previous paragraph, It’s one of the easiest lights to operate I’ve seen in some time.
Getting comfortable with the tail switch takes about sixty seconds.
If there’s anything “bad” about it, you might just file the complaint under “user preference”.
The first thing you might notice about the L3’s beam, is that the tint is a tad yellow. Outside it won’t be too obvious, but when shining it on the bedroom wall…it’s hard to ignore. Again, maybe more user preference than anything else.
This next one might be more of an inconvenience.
The only instant access you have, is to strobe and SOS. If (like me) you fancy having one-button control for moonlight and turbo…you won’t get that on the L3.
If you know you might want it, you’ll need to set it on one of them before you turn it off.
Inconvenience? Maybe. Deal-breaker? Maybe not.
The Wuben L3 CAN be yours!
So, all things considered, the L3 is a bright, fully-functional flashlight which can be purchased from Wuben, by clicking here.
